In the nursery area, across the street from the well known Botanical Gardens, is where many of the plants get their start, as a seedling or cutting. Plants move from a humid and warm greenhouse to progressively cooler and more ventilated structures. Eventually they are hardened and ready for transplantation to the garden or sale as part of fundraising. The Horticulture Group and Friends of the Garden spend time, along with the garden staff, caring for the plants and helping with operations.
